What to Expect During Your Immigration Physical Exam

We know medical exams can feel stressful—especially when they’re tied to something as important as your immigration process. At IMMIGRATION MEDICAL CENTER, we’ve designed the experience to be smooth, respectful, and straightforward. Here’s exactly what you can expect during your visit:

- New Patient Registration:
  We’ll create your medical chart and gather your details.
- Government-Issued ID or Passport:
  This is required to verify your identity.
- Vaccination Records:
  Bring any available vaccine documentation. If you don’t have records, we can assist.
- USCIS Paperwork:
  I-693 Form (If not we will provide you)
- Insurance Information (Optional):
  While immigration exams are usually self-pay, bring your insurance card if you’d like to check for coverage of optional services like vaccines.
- Discuss Your Medical History:
  We’ll ask about past illnesses, surgeries, hospitalizations, medications, allergies, and any ongoing treatments.
- Understand Your Health Background:
  This helps us determine if you need any additional screenings or follow-up care based on USCIS guidelines.
- Answer Your Questions:
  We’re here to make the process easy and transparent—feel free to ask us anything about the exam.
During your visit, we’ll complete all required tests and labs, including:
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test – Blood test (Quantiferon Gold) or skin test
- Chest X-ray (if required)
- Urine Test – Screening for Gonorrhea & Chlamydia
- Bloodwork – Includes:
  - RPR (Syphilisscreening)
  - MMR Titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity check)
  - Varicella Titers (Chickenpox immunity check)
As part of your immigration medical exam, we will:
- Review Your Vaccination Records to ensure they meet USCIS guidelines.
- Provide Any Missing Vaccines if needed, directly at our clinic.
Vaccines Typically Required by USCIS Include:
- Mumps
- Measles
- Rubella
- Polio
- Tetanus & Diphtheria Toxoids
- Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
- Haemophilus Influenzae type B (Hib)
- Hepatitis B
- Other Vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP)
Don’t worry if you’re missing records—we’ll help you catch up and get everything USCIS requires.
Once your exam, labs, and vaccinations are complete, we will:
- Fill Out Your Form I-693 (Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record)
  Our civil surgeon will accurately complete and sign your form.
- Seal the Form in an Official USCIS Envelope
  This sealed envelope is required for your immigration application. Do not open it—it must be submitted directly to USCIS.
